Hertford
Are you an imaginative classroom practitioner seeking an immediate opportunity post-half term to inspire young minds and cultivate a lifelong love of learning?
Can you establish a structured, high-achieving learning space that blends core academic goals with adaptive, pupil-centred teaching?
Are you looking to secure a full-time, ongoing teaching post starting after the break, or flexible day-to-day supply shifts across Hertford primary schools?
Randstad Education has partnered with a forward-looking Primary School in Hertford to appoint an exceptional Qualified Primary Teacher (QTS mandatory) for a full-time, long-term post commencing directly after the half-term holiday. Alongside this dedicated classroom vacancy, we are actively registering adaptable educators for flexible daily supply teaching across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Whether you are looking for the continuity of leading your own class or prefer setting your own working days on supply, our partner school delivers an inspiring setting committed to academic achievement and pupil wellbeing.
Your Key Duties
- Adaptive Curriculum Planning: Create, differentiate, and deliver high-impact lessons strictly aligned with National Curriculum guidelines to suit varied pupil learning styles (or deliver established class plans with confidence during supply cover).
- Subject Mastery & Progress: Use practical apparatus, active numeracy methods, and modern synthetic phonics strategies to boost pupil attainment across core subjects.
- Classroom Team Leadership: Direct, mentor, and collaborate with room Teaching Assistants to maintain an orderly, engaging, and safe learning environment.
- Assessment & Benchmark Tracking: Implement robust assessment frameworks to monitor individual milestones, evaluate academic growth, and celebrate student success.
- Multidisciplinary Liaison: Work closely alongside the SENCO, key stage leads, and senior leadership to ensure tailored support plans are delivered for SEND and EAL pupils.
- Parental Links & Daily Handovers: Maintain clear, empathetic communication with parents and carers for ongoing posts, or compile clear end-of-day handover notes after supply cover.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory. Open to experienced primary teachers as well as ambitious Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with prior UK classroom experience.
- Pedagogical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of primary national framework expectations, adaptive planning, and positive behaviour management strategies.
- Resilience & Versatility: A calm, adaptable, and composed approach that maintains high engagement whether leading a settled class or stepping into unfamiliar classrooms on supply.
- Team Ethos: A collaborative mindset committed to whole-school success, child safeguarding, and student welfare.
- Vetting Requirements: Holds an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or readiness to complete a new check through Randstad).
