Job Description
Vetro are seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a friendly, values-led primary school environment in Cheshire. This is an opportunity where you will provide targeted support (including 1:1 and small-group assistance) to help children engage with learning, build confidence, and make consistent progress.

Working as part of a supportive education team, you will contribute to a calm, inclusive classroom culture and play a key role in helping pupils access the curriculum and develop socially and emotionally, while maintaining high standards of safeguarding and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, your daily duties will include:

Delivering 1:1 support and small-group interventions to meet individual learning and pastoral needs, including supporting pupils with additional needs where required
Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery, classroom routines, and resource preparation to help pupils stay focused and engaged
Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and inclusion through consistent support strategies and clear boundaries
Observing and reporting progress, contributing to pupil targets, and working collaboratively with teaching staff and wider support colleagues
Supporting supervision duties during the school day in line with the needs of the setting

Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will need:

Relevant experience supporting children in a school, education, or child-focused setting (primary experience preferred)
Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one)
A clear commitment to safeguarding and child protection, with the ability to follow school policies and procedures consistently
A patient, proactive, and reliable approach, with a team-focused attitude and high expectations for pupil achievement
