Assistant Quantity Surveyor

A leading construction business is looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team, supporting the delivery of a major building project in Bridlington.

This role is based on site at Bridlington working closely with the site managers, design and contract managers.

Experience with a main contractor across any building sector will be considered, or ideally you will come from having experience in New build housing, apartments or care home projects.

The Role

Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial team in preparing cost estimates, managing project budgets, and assisting with contractual and financial aspects of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Issuing payment applications.
• Manage payment cycle for allocated project.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Assist and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Assist with project cost monitoring and reporting.
• Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and site teams.
• Develop an understanding of construction contracts and commercial management.
• Assist with preparation and submission of early warning notices and compensatio

About You

• Ideally minimum 3 years experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction sector
• Main contractor experience within a building environment preffered
• Previous experience on commercial aspects of construction projects
• Experience in subcontract procurement and contract administration experience
• Good knowledge of valuations, forecasting, cost control and variations
• Working knowledge of JCT, NEC or equivalent contracts preffered
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisation
• Valid UK driving licence
