We're recruiting a Chartered Structural Engineer to join an established and growing engineering consultancy delivering a broad range of residential, commercial and industrial projects.

You'll be trusted to manage projects, make technical decisions and work directly with clients rather than simply produce calculations.

The Role

• Structural design of steel, concrete, masonry and timber structures

• Producing and checking calculations, drawings and specifications

• Managing projects from concept through to construction

• Liaising with architects, contractors and clients

• Reviewing and overseeing work produced by junior engineers

• Ensuring designs are technically sound, practical and buildable

What We're Looking For

• Chartered Structural or Civil Engineer – MICE or MIStructE

• Strong UK consultancy experience in structural design

• Good working knowledge of Eurocodes

• Experience with Tekla, TEDDS, Robot, ETABS or similar

• Confidence managing projects and dealing directly with clients

• Ability to check and guide the work of other engineers

Experience with temporary works, drainage or BIM would be useful.

Salary will reflect your chartership, experience and level of technical responsibility.

We're looking for an experienced Ecological Surveyor to work on a varied programme of construction and development projects across the South East.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity, combining fieldwork, technical reporting and practical ecological advice.

The Role

• Bat surveys including PRAs, emergence and re-entry surveys

• Reptile and badger surveys, assessments and monitoring

• Preparing ecological reports and mitigation recommendations

• Supporting protected species licensing applications

• Acting as Ecological Clerk of Works on construction sites

• Advising project teams on ecological constraints and compliance

What You'll Need

• At least five seasons' protected species survey experience

• Natural England Level 2 Bat Survey Class Licence

• Experience surveying bats, reptiles and badgers

• Strong knowledge of relevant wildlife legislation

• Good technical reporting skills

• Full driving licence and flexibility for occasional early mornings, evenings and weekends

Experience with GIS, Biodiversity Net Gain and construction projects would be advantageous.

You'll enjoy varied projects, professional development support and the opportunity to be involved from initial survey through to construction.

The opportunities

Position 1 – Building Surveying / Engineering Projects

Working on a varied portfolio of residential and commercial properties, you'll be responsible for:

• Building surveys, condition inspections and defect diagnosis

• Dilapidations and schedules of condition

• Repair specifications and remedial recommendations

• Technical advice on refurbishment and construction projects

• Liaising with clients, contractors and other technical professionals

Position 2 – Building Surveying & Valuations

A broader property-focused role combining traditional building surveying with valuation work.

You'll undertake building surveys, assess property condition, prepare professional reports and carry out property valuations.

What We're Looking For

• MRICS qualified Building Surveyor

• Strong building surveying and defect diagnosis experience

• Excellent report writing and client-facing skills

• Ability to manage your own workload and projects

• For the valuation position, previous property valuation experience is essential
