About the role
Are you passionate about giving children the very best start to their education?
At Mears Ashby CE Primary School, we are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and inspirational teacher to lead learning in our Reception class and work closely with our attached pre-school provision for children aged 3-4 years. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in a nurturing village school where children are at the heart of everything we do.
Our passionate and committed team provides a creative, stimulating and inclusive learning environment, rooted in Christian values. We are dedicated to ensuring every child feels safe, valued and inspired to achieve their full potential. We strive to develop resilient, confident and enthusiastic learners who are prepared for the next stage of their educational journey and equipped to make a positive contribution to the world around them.
This role offers the unique opportunity to shape and strengthen the learning journey from age three through to the end of Reception, ensuring children experience a seamless and successful transition into school life.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is an excellent classroom practitioner with a passion for Early Years education.
- Has experience of teaching within EYFS and a strong understanding of child development from ages 3-5.
- Has up-to-date knowledge of current research and best practice in Early Years, including Quality First Teaching and effective provision for Nursery and Reception-aged children.
- Has a secure understanding of early language development, communication, literacy and early reading.
- Creates an inclusive, nurturing and stimulating learning environment where every child can flourish.
- Has high expectations for all children and is committed to helping them achieve their very best.
- Builds positive and professional relationships with children, parents, colleagues and external agencies.
- Is confident in contributing to the development of EYFS provision and working collaboratively with colleagues to drive continuous improvement.
- Has energy, creativity and enthusiasm, alongside a warm and approachable manner.
- Will actively support and promote the Christian ethos and values of our Church school and Trust.
- Wonderful children who are happy, enthusiastic and eager to learn.
- A welcoming, supportive and dedicated staff team who genuinely work together.
- The opportunity to help shape and develop a strong EYFS provision spanning pre-school and Reception.
- A caring and inclusive school community where your ideas and contributions are valued.
- Access to high-quality professional development and career progression opportunities across the Trust.
- Employment within one of Northamptonshire's largest Multi-Academy Trusts, offering extensive networking and development opportunities.
- A comprehensive employee benefits package and recognition scheme through Perkbox
