Machine Operator / CNC Machine Operator / Press Brake Operator Abatec is recruiting an experienced Machine Operator, CNC Machine Operator or Press Brake Operator for a manufacturing opportunity based in Yatton, North Somerset. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous CNC machine operating OR press brake operating experience to join an established manufacturing environment producing aluminium components for high-quality door systems. The starting rate is £14.48 per hour, including a £0.50 attendance bonus, with the opportunity to increase following successful probation. What's in it for you? * From £14.48 per hour (£13.98 basic rate + £0.50 attendance bonus) * Overtime available at up to £25.42 per hour * Opportunity to increase your starting rate following successful probation * Full-time manufacturing opportunity * Weekly rotating shifts: 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm * Opportunity to develop CNC machine operation, press brake and metal fabrication skills * Established manufacturing environment The Role – Machine Operator As a Machine Operator, you will operate manufacturing machinery to produce accurately formed aluminium components, ensuring products meet technical specifications, quality standards and production targets. Duties will include: * Operating and setting press brake machinery and/or CNC production machinery * Using machine controls and production settings to manufacture accurately formed components * Working from technical drawings, measurements and production specifications * Selecting and checking tooling where required * Measuring and inspecting finished components for accuracy and quality * Identifying production defects, machine faults and tooling issues * Maintaining production targets and efficient machine operation * Following manufacturing procedures, quality standards and health and safety requirements * Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment What experience are we looking for? * Previous press brake operating experience OR CNC machine operating experience is essential * Ideally, experience operating both press brake and CNC machinery * Previous experience within manufacturing, metal fabrication, engineering or machine operation * Ability to follow technical drawings, measurements and production instructions * Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality components * Comfortable working within a busy production environment * Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious Suitable Backgrounds This opportunity would suit someone who has previously worked as a CNC Operator, CNC Machine Operator, Press Brake Operator or Machine Setter, or someone from a metal fabrication, manufacturing or engineering production background looking to develop their machine operating skills. Candidates with experience in aluminium fabrication, metal forming, production machinery or manufacturing components are particularly encouraged to apply.
