About the role
£32,000 - £38,000 DOE | Hybrid Working with Flexibility | Exeter
Cathedral Appointments is recruiting on behalf of a number of well-established manufacturing, food and drink, and distribution businesses in and around Exeter for experienced Supply Chain Planners. As these businesses continue to invest in their operations, they are looking for people who can bring structure, insight and sound judgement to how demand and stock are managed.
The Role
Supply Chain Planners sit at the centre of the operation, balancing customer demand, production capacity and stock levels so the business delivers on time without tying up unnecessary cash. These roles suit someone with a solid grounding in demand, inventory or production planning who enjoys working with data and is comfortable influencing colleagues across sales, purchasing and operations.
Responsibilities for the Supply Chain Planner:
- Build and maintain demand forecasts using sales history, market insight and customer input
- Set and manage inventory levels to meet service targets while keeping stockholding under control
- Translate forecasts into purchasing and production plans, working closely with suppliers and operations
- Monitor and report on KPIs such as forecast accuracy, stock cover and on-time delivery
- Spot supply risks early and work with colleagues to resolve shortages or excess stock
- Contribute to S&OP meetings and the continuous improvement of planning processes
Requirements for the Supply Chain Planner include:
- Experience in a demand, supply, inventory or production planning role
- Strong Excel skills and experience of an ERP or MRP system
- An analytical approach, with the confidence to turn data into clear recommendations
- Good communication skills and the ability to build relationships across departments and with suppliers
- Well organised and calm when priorities change
- CIPS or ASCM (APICS) study is welcome but not essential
Benefits:
- £32,000 - £38,000 depending on experience
- Hybrid working with flexibility
- Permanent opportunities with established South West employers
- Clear routes into senior planning and supply chain management
- Specialist, confidential career advice from a consultant focused on logistics and supply chain
If you are a planner considering your next step, or would simply like to know what the South West market looks like for your skills, we would love to hear from you.
Note on Sponsorship: We regret to inform you that at this time, we are unable to offer sponsorship for work authorisation for this role. Therefore, candidates must possess valid authorisation to work in the UK without requiring visa sponsorship.
