A true alternative.With over 5,000 people in the UK, and a presence in 150 global markets, we're on an ambitious journey, from great to exceptional, and we need the best people to help us achieve our potential.Job DescriptionHolds overall ownership for a portfolio of complex or higher risk audit engagements, reporting directly to the Engagement Leader or PartnerSets the audit strategy for engagements, exercising significant professional judgement on the most technically complex or contentious areasActs as the senior escalation point for the audit team on technical, client and risk matters, consulting with Partners and National Assurance Services where neededHas overall accountability for portfolio profitability, WIP and billing, and manages resourcing decisions across multiple engagementsLeads on recruitment, coaching and development of Managers and Assistant Managers, and plays an active role in performance management and appraisalsOwns senior client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and identifying opportunities to expand services across the client relationshipPlays a visible role in business development, including leading on proposals, pitches and networking to help grow the practiceReviews and signs off on the quality of audit files across the portfolio ahead of Partner reviewKeeps clients informed of new standards and regulatory change, and advises on the implications for their businessChampions the firm's risk management and quality standards across the team, and is a point of escalation for whistleblowing or integrity concernsMaintains and grows a network across the firm to identify opportunities and prevent duplication of effortActs with integrity and in line with our organisational valuesWhat we are looking forACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent), with substantial post qualification experience in audit, including proven experience managing a portfolio and developing junior team members.
