About the role
A Development Engineer is sought to join an innovative engineering team in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, contributing to the research, development and testing of innovative fire detection technologies.
Responsibilities include:
- Carrying out technical research, investigations and prototype testing
- Evaluating competitor products and alternative technologies
- Analysing test results and engineering data to support development decisions
- Conducting bench testing, fault finding and root-cause analysis
- Producing technical reports and communicating findings to engineering teams
- Working collaboratively across development and production engineering teams
- Supporting the development of robust, high-quality fire detection products
The Development Engineer, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, will have the following key skills:
- Practical engineering, product development, R&D or technical investigation experience
- Knowledge of electronics, schematics, datasheets and circuit prototyping
- Experience using Python or MATLAB for engineering analysis or test automation
- Hands-on experience with prototypes, test equipment and experimental setups
- Degree in Electronics Engineering, Physics, Software Engineering or a related discipline
