• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure routine accounting information is entered promptly.
• Process financial documents and keep supporting records organised for clear reporting.
• Assist with the preparation of regular account reconciliations and resolve straightforward differences.
• Support the preparation of management information by checking figures and keeping data current.
• Help prepare journal entries and ensure they are recorded accurately within finance systems.
• Monitor finance queries, provide timely updates and keep clear records of actions taken.
• Work with colleagues across the Accounting & Finance department to maintain efficient processes.
• Complete routine finance administration to support accurate and consistent accounting activity.

Profile

A successful 'Assistant Accountant' should have:

• Experience of maintaining accurate financial records and processing accounting information.
• Ability to complete reconciliations and investigate straightforward variances carefully.
• Confidence preparing journals and checking figures for accuracy.
• Good understanding of routine accounting administration and document control.
• Ability to work with finance systems and manage information accurately.
• Clear written and verbal communication when responding to finance queries.
• Ability to organise tasks effectively and meet routine deadlines.

Job Offer

• Permanent Assistant Accountant position based in Poole.
• Salary of £27,000 to £30,000 dependent on the level of experience.
