SEND Teaching Assistant

Flourish Education are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in the Bartley Green area. This is a full-time role working within a SEND Resource Base, with 1:1 responsibilities throughout the day.

The role will involve supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis, helping them access learning and take part in daily classroom activities. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and wider SEND team to provide consistent and personalised support throughout the school day.

Responsibilities as a SEND Teaching Assistant:

· Providing 1:1 support to a pupil throughout the school day
· Supporting the pupil to access learning and classroom activities
· Supporting social, emotional and academic development
· Helping with communication and engagement
· Supporting routines and transitions throughout the day
· Providing personal care where required
· Working closely with the class teacher and wider SEND team
· Helping to maintain a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment

Required Skills and Experience:

· Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
· Experience supporting children with SEND within a school setting
· Experience providing 1:1 support is desirable
· Experience working within a Resource Base or specialist setting is beneficial
· A calm, patient and nurturing approach
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
· Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
· Reliable, flexible and proactive approach
