Residential Childcare Worker

We are looking for someone to join our small, dedicated team as a Residential Childcare worker.About KinCairnKinCairn is a service provider with a management team with over 30 years of experience in providing a high quality or care within a residential setting. It is our goal to ensure we provide a safe caring environment for each of our residents to meet their needs, while also providing a healthy professional learning setting for our team.Our home is a 3 bedded residential care service for children and young people aged 06-18 years. We are situated on the outskirts of Cupar in a detached cottage with a homely milieu to allow a safe nurturing and therapeutic environment for our young people to learn, grow and develop.Pay: £25,890 - £28,875 (gross) a yearWith additional sleep in allowanceShift work including weekends and sleep in’sJob Type : Full timeResponsibilities include, maintaining a safe nurturing environment which promotes the needs of the young people throughout your practice. Managing issues related to trauma in a professional manner while empowering the young people to develop their own decisions and life skills.Write daily observations, reports, risk assessments and contribute to main care plans.You will be required to understand the principles of safeguarding and child protection.Demonstrate the values and standards set out in accordance with the codes of practice (SSSC)Develop positive working relationships with the young people and demonstrate good role model practices.Perform light household duties including housekeeping and cleaning.A good knowledge of working with children and families.Liaise with Parents, families, carers, social workers and other professionals on behalf of the young people.RequirementsSSSC Registration (or equivalent, as recognised by SSSC)Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Disclosure ScotlandA good sense of humour and willingness to support our young people in their adventures.Work location; In personEssentialPrevious experience of working with children / young people or other vulnerable groups.You will have to undertake shifts on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends, night cover and sleep ins.HNC Social Care including SVQ3 children and families.A knowledge and awareness of therapeutic interventions.DesirableExperience of working with young people in a residential care settingExperience of working in residential settings with other client groupsFull Manual driving licence due to the location.What you can expect from KinCairnGuidance and development from an award-winning management team with experience at all levels of children and families, that will help develop practice and training.Open communication and dialog always.High level of Supervision, both formal and in-formal.Opportunities for promotion where applicable.Benefits:Casual dressCompany pensionFree parkingOn-site parkingWork Location: In person
