Senior Data Engineer, AI Finance Platform | Remote-first, London or Amsterdam
£90k to £110k + equity | Permanent
An AI startup heading toward its Series A is building an operating system for CFOs. Its agents reason over a company’s financial data to plan and forecast, not just report. If the data is wrong, the agents are wrong, and in finance that isn’t acceptable. You’d own the data layer that stops that happening, reporting directly to the CTO.
What you’ll do
- Build and own production Python pipelines that load customer data into a graph and vector store
- Add connectors for Snowflake, ERP, accounting and billing systems
- Design the data model that keeps AI retrieval accurate across multi-entity financial data
- Own your work end to end, from pipelines to DevOps and infrastructure
- Start mostly hands‑on, then spend more time mentoring a data team of four and shaping the architecture
What you’ll bring
- 6 to 10 years in data engineering, ML systems or backend-heavy engineering
- Strong production Python ETL/ELT
- Experience supporting an ML or AI product in production
- An understanding of graph databases and vector stores
- Cloud (ideally GCP), infrastructure as code and CI/CD
Nice to have: startup or founding engineer experience, finance or accounting data, and the ambition to lead.
Remote-first for people based in London or Amsterdam, with the whole company meeting up every couple of months. Backed by leading private equity investors and founded by ex‑big tech leaders and a 5x CFO.
