As an Operating Model Lead, you will provide strategic leadership for the design, evolution and continuous improvement of HMRC's Chief Digital and Information Office (CDIO) operating model. You will act as the strategic owner of the CDIO operating model, setting its direction, overseeing its continuous evolution, and leading the portfolio of improvement activity and people required to ensure it remains effective, sustainable and aligned to organisational priorities.
You will lead a team of Operating Model Managers, acting as the senior internal consulting lead for operating model transformation across CDIO. You will shape the long-term direction of how CDIO delivers value through technology services, digital products and platforms, ensuring operating model decisions support organisational objectives, improve delivery performance and enable successful business outcomes.
CDIO is moving to a Products and Platform-based organisation, with value delivered through Value Streams and a standard process framework. In this role, you will lead the operating model agenda that makes this shift successful and sustainable. You will work with senior leaders to define the future operating model, align strategic priorities, shape organisational design and governance, and ensure operating model improvements are implemented consistently across CDIO.
This role suits someone who combines strategic thinking with strong delivery leadership. You will lead a team who use evidence, insight and organisational data to identify systemic barriers to effective delivery and organisational performance, setting priorities for improvement across governance, operating rhythms, organisational design, decision-making, ways of working, tooling, culture, people and supply chain.
You will also lead the measures, frameworks and governance required to assess operating model effectiveness and demonstrate improvements in organisational performance, value delivery and strategic outcomes.
