Finance ManagerLocation: Reigate or Banstead, Surrey | Fully office-basedHours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pmSalary: Up to £50,000 depending on experience Are you an experienced finance professional looking for an opportunity to take ownership of a finance function and make a real difference within a growing business? We are working with an ambitious, growing SME looking to appoint a hands-on Finance Manager to oversee its day-to-day financial operations. Strong experience in budget management, financial forecasting and cashflow management is essential, alongside a solid financial accounting background. This could be an excellent opportunity for someone who has developed their skills within a larger organisation and would now enjoy bringing that knowledge and experience into a smaller business, where they can have greater ownership, work closely with senior leadership and grow alongside the company. Responsibilities will include:Managing budgets, including preparation, monitoring expenditure and analysing variancesPreparing and maintaining financial forecasts to support effective financial planningTaking ownership of cashflow management, including monitoring cash positions and preparing cashflow forecastsOverseeing the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reportingPreparing monthly management accounts and financial reconciliationsOverseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliationsManaging VAT returns, payroll coordination and statutory reporting requirementsMaintaining and improving financial controls, processes and proceduresProviding accurate financial information and reports to senior leadershipSupporting the continued growth of the business by ensuring the finance function remains efficient, organised and fit for purpose The ideal candidate will have:At least 8 years' experience within finance or accounting, with a strong financial accounting backgroundFully qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMADemonstrable experience across all three key areas: budget management, financial forecasting and cashflow managementStrong technical accounting knowledge and the confidence to manage an end-to-end finance functionPrevious experience of using Xero is essential Excellent attention to detail, organisational and communication skillsA proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and take ownershipThe confidence to work closely with senior leadership and adapt to the needs of a smaller businessExperience gained within a larger organisation would be particularly welcome, although candidates from SME backgrounds will also be considered This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys being hands-on, wants genuine ownership of their work and would relish the opportunity to become an integral part of a growing business.
