Senior SHEQ Advisor

Astute’s Nuclear Team is partnering with a leading utilities and infrastructure services provider, recognised for its technical excellence and commitment to sustainability, to recruit a Senior SHEQ Advisor for the Sizewell C project in Suffolk.

Responsibilities of the Senior SHEQ Advisor

Reporting to the Head of SHEQ, you will:

• Lead and support a team of SHEQ Advisors, providing coaching, mentoring and technical guidance across the health and safety function
• Provide expert health, safety and environmental advice in a construction environment
• Develop, implement and improve SHEQ procedures to exceed client expectations, meet legislative requirements and align with company standards
• Work with stakeholders across the business to maintain and improve SHEQ performance against client KPIs
• Monitor SHEQ performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
• Promote a strong SHEQ culture across the organisation, building credibility and securing buy-in for positive change

Required qualifications and experience

To be considered, you must have:

• 5+ years’ health and safety management experience in construction, utilities or nuclear
• Experience managing, coaching or mentoring health and safety professionals
• NVQ Level 5 or 6 in Occupational Health and Safety, and CertIOSH as a minimum
• NEBOSH Fire Certificate
• CSCS Managers and Professionals card, or an industry-recognised equivalent

Desirable experience

It would be an advantage, but is not essential, to have:

• Experience in a complex construction, infrastructure, utilities or nuclear environment
• Working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems

Salary and benefits

• Salary: Competitive
• Location: Sizewell C, Suffolk
• Pension: up to 20% combined contribution
• Bonus: performance-related, around 5%
• Holiday: 25 days rising to 28 with service, plus the option to buy up to 10 days and sell up to 5 each year
