About the role
HEAD OF COMMUNICATIONS
Head of Communications leadership role at Keswick Ministries, helping grow engagement, support and ministry reach.
- Contract & Hours: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week)
- Salary: £52,000 – £55,000 relocation allowance available
- Location: Hybrid/Keswick, Cumbria (Three days per week on site, two days remote)
Keswick Ministries exists to refresh God's people with joy in Christ Jesus. Since 1875, Christians have gathered in the Lake District for the Keswick Convention to hear God's Word, become like God's Son and serve God's mission. This summer the Convention welcomed around 10,000 adults and 3,500 children, and it is completely free to attend. With the completion of The Pencil Factory, a large site in the heart of Keswick, the ministry is now growing its year-round teaching, training, resources and events, alongside a developing commercial events offer.
We're looking for a Head of Communications to help tell that story. Reporting to the Director of Business Operations and serving on the Leadership Team, you'll create and deliver a communications strategy that drives fundraising, marketing and PR – helping turn donors into partners and making Keswick's rich heritage of Bible teaching known across the UK church. You'll manage the Development Officer and oversee key suppliers, including the design agency.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Create and deliver a communications strategy that inspires supporters, grows engagement and extends the reach of Keswick's ministry.
- Champion the Keswick Ministries brand and values, creating a consistent experience across digital platforms, publications, events and The Pencil Factory.
- Lead fundraising and supporter engagement, encouraging long-term partnership through regular giving, major donors, trusts and foundations, and legacy support.
- Drive marketing and storytelling that raises the profile of Keswick Ministries and supports the growth of The Pencil Factory.
- Lead and develop the communications team, building relationships with media, suppliers and partners while delivering excellent work.
If you're an experienced communications, marketing or brand leader with excellent writing skills, strong strategic instincts and a heart for the local church, we'd love to hear from you. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a warm, prayerful team in one of the UK's most beautiful locations, and to help a ministry that has served the church for over 150 years reach and serve future generations.
Benefits:
- 10% employer pension contribution, with Salary Sacrifice option
- 25 days annual leave plus bank/public holidays
- Office closed for four days between Christmas and New Year, in recognition of the additional hours worked during Convention
- Relocation package available
- Daily devotions, times of prayer and staff fellowship
- Beautiful Lake District location with a supportive and collaborative team culture
