As a growing, mission-driven organisation, we believe that every child truly matters, and we work tirelessly to create environments where young people feel safe, supported, and empowered to thrive.
About the Role - Residential Support Worker
As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide advice, assistance, and support to young people in our care, attending to their practical, physical, and emotional needs.
No two days are the same. You could be supporting a young person to settle into their new home, develop independence and life skills, participate in activities they enjoy, or attend to practical matters relating to childcare and the home environment, including cooking, cleaning, and general household maintenance.
Acting as a positive role model, you will empower young people to make safe and positive lifestyle choices, helping them to thrive in a warm, nurturing, and secure environment.
You will also:
Maintain accurate written records for the young people in our care, contributing to care planning meetings, reviews, and other relevant meetings as required.
Support young people during meetings with relevant professionals, including Social Workers, CAMHS, and LAC Nurses.
Help create a therapeutic, nurturing, and supportive environment that promotes emotional, social, and intellectual development.
Ensure that young people are safeguarded at all times while upholding our ethos that "Every Child Matters."
What We Are Looking For
You Will Be:
Passionate about person-centred care.
A strong team player with the ability to work effectively with others.
Able to promote positive challenges and reflective practice within the team.
Empathetic, resilient, sensitive, and understanding.
Able to maintain confidentiality.
Patient, with the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
Confident in positively challenging inappropriate behaviour and supporting positive outcomes.
In possession of a Level 3 Diploma in Children's Residential Care, or willing to work towards this qualification.
In possession of a full UK driving licence.
Ideally experienced in working with children in a residential care setting.
