Catering Assistant

We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and hands-on Catering Assistant to join our small, growing team. This is a varied role for someone who enjoys working in a busy kitchen, takes pride in preparing great food and is happy to lend a hand wherever needed.

Salary: £12.75 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 (evening work on occasions)

Pay: £12.75

Tasks:

Morning Preparation & Lunch Deliveries

• Prepare and organise orders received for daily lunch deliveries, ensuring everything is packed accurately and ready on time.
• Follow order details and allocation sheets carefully to ensure each booking receives the correct items.
• Maintain high standards of presentation, organisation and food hygiene.

Preparation for Upcoming Orders & Events

• Prepare for the following day's orders and bookings once the morning deliveries are completed.
• Organise condiments, sauces and other accompanying items.
• Remove pre-prepared items from the freezers in good time for safe, controlled defrosting.
• Check allocation sheets for each booking to ensure all food and equipment requirements are accounted for.

Afternoon Baking & Kitchen Duties

• Spend afternoons baking and replenishing freezer stock to maintain sufficient supplies for upcoming orders and events.
• Keep the kitchen clean, tidy and organised throughout the day.
• Assist with stock rotation, labelling and general kitchen duties as required.

Event Support

• Assist with food preparation, event setup and, when required, serving food to customers.
• Work flexibly with the team to ensure events run smoothly.
• Occasionally work split shifts to help cover event requirements.

Requirements:

• Previous kitchen and catering experience.
