About the role
Salary: £19,300 per annum (£48,250 FTE)
Part-time: 15 hours per week
Set within beautiful, landscaped gardens, Priory Hospital Southampton’s tranquil environment offers therapeutic and recovery-focused residential treatment for those suffering from a number of mental health conditions. We can support adult males and females with acute mental health needs, as well as eating disorders. Priory’s acute and PICU services aim to allow more people to be treated closer to home and we support the NHS to repatriate out-of-area patients back to local areas.
In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care. Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop individualised treatment plans to meet patients’ clinical needs. Deliver evidence-based psychological interventions to support patients with their mental health, emotional wellbeing and recovery. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic, person-centred care. Provide psychological formulations and contribute to risk assessments, care planning and clinical reviews. Maintain accurate clinical records and prepare psychological reports in line with professional and organisational standards. Support patients in developing coping strategies, emotional regulation skills and resilience throughout their treatment journey. Contribute to clinical audits, service evaluations and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Maintain professional standards and ensure all psychological practice aligns with relevant ethical guidelines and best practice. You can find additional information in the attached job description.
Essential for the Role – Registered Practitioner Psychologist
Applicants must hold a recognised postgraduate qualification in Psychology that meets the requirements for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist. Candidates must be eligible for HCPC registration and demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to deliver safe, effective and evidence-based psychological care.
Desirable Experience
Registration with the British Psychological Society (BPS) would be beneficial. Experience working within mental health services, conducting psychological assessments, delivering evidence-based interventions and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team would also be advantageous.
