Senior Building Surveyor

An established property consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to its Bristol team. The opportunity would suit someone who wants to retain the variety of Building Surveying while taking greater ownership of projects and client relationships. The workload combines professional Building Surveying with project–led work, with scope to develop further towards Associate level. The Role You will work across a broad range of Building Surveying instructions, with the opportunity to manage your own workload and work directly with clients. Typical work will include: JCT Contract AdministrationRefurbishment, maintenance and remedial projectsBuilding surveys and condition surveysDefect diagnosis and building pathologyDilapidationsTechnical due diligenceSpecifications and schedules of worksTender documentationManaging projects from initial instruction through to completionClient and consultant managementThe emphasis is on having a good balance of professional and project work, rather than becoming overly specialised in one area. What They're Looking For Ideally, you will be an MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor with consultancy experience, although experienced surveyors approaching chartership would also be considered.You'll ideally have: A Building Surveying or relevant property/construction degreeMRICS status or be progressing towards chartershipExperience within a consultancy or similarly client–facing environmentA good grounding in professional Building SurveyingJCT Contract Administration and/or project experienceRefurbishment and remedial project experienceStrong technical knowledge and an understanding of building pathologyConfidence dealing directly with clientsThe ability to manage your own projects and workload What's Next?
