UPS Engineer

Astute’s Power Team is partnering with a well-established UK standby power specialist to recruit a UPS Engineer for a field-based role covering an assigned UK region.

Responsibilities of the UPS Engineer

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will:

• Service, maintain and inspect UPS systems from 5kVA to 1MVA to ensure reliable operation of critical power infrastructure
• Diagnose faults and carry out on-site repairs during planned and reactive maintenance visits
• Carry out remedial works, including battery replacements, component changes and minor to major system overhauls
• Act as first-response engineer for breakdowns, restoring systems to operation quickly and professionally
• Support scheduled maintenance, corrective works and reactive call-outs, including an out-of-hours call-out rota
• Complete clear, accurate service reports covering findings, actions taken and recommendations
• Work closely with internal teams and customers to deliver a high standard of service and minimise downtime
• Maintain excellent health and safety, housekeeping and professional standards on customer sites

Required qualifications and experience

To be considered, you must have:

• Experience as a UPS maintenance or service engineer
• Fault-finding experience on electrical power systems
• Experience across a range of UPS manufacturers and capacities
• Full UK driving licence, and willingness to travel and occasionally stay away from home
• Right to live and work in the UK

Salary and benefits

• Salary: £36,000 to £50,000 basic
• Working pattern: field-based, including an out-of-hours call-out rota
• Location: field-based across an assigned UK region, with occasional wider UK travel
• Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays, increasing with service
