About the role
Azure Cloud Platform Engineer
Location: Fully Remote
Contract: Contract
Day Rate: Up to £500pd
IR35: Outside IR35
We are looking for an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer to join a technology team working on the development, modernisation and improvement of cloud platforms and services.
The role is primarily focused on Microsoft Azure, with AWS used where there is a clear business or technical requirement. You'll be responsible for designing, building and improving secure, scalable and well-managed cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and improve Azure cloud platforms and services
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep or similar
- Build automation and CI/CD pipelines
- Implement cloud networking, security, identity and governance controls
- Support cloud architecture and new technology implementation
- Build and deploy infrastructure and platform services supporting Product and Data solutions
- Work with technical teams to ensure new services are secure, supportable and production-ready
- Provide specialist technical support and escalation for complex cloud platform issues
- Develop automation using PowerShell, Python or similar
- Contribute to monitoring, documentation, platform standards and operational readiness
- Participate in an out-of-hours/on-call rota for critical services when required
We're looking for strong hands-on experience with:
- Microsoft Azure
- Terraform and/or Bicep
- Azure DevOps, GitHub or similar CI/CD tooling
- Cloud infrastructure and platform engineering
- Cloud networking and security
- Identity and access management
- PowerShell, Python or similar scripting
- Cloud governance, monitoring and platform standards
Knowledge of AWS and Linux would also be beneficial.
This is a hands-on engineering role, ideal for someone who enjoys building, automating and improving cloud platforms rather than simply maintaining existing infrastructure.
