We are recruiting for an established structural engineering consultancy seeking an experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer to support its ongoing project workload on a part-time contract basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer looking for a flexible, fully remote contract position working 20 hours per week, delivering structural design solutions across a range of building projects.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering structural engineering designs, calculations and technical solutions, working independently while collaborating with the wider engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake structural analysis and design across a variety of building projects.
- Produce detailed structural calculations, specifications and technical reports.
- Design structural elements using steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry, as required.
- Review drawings and coordinate with technicians and other design disciplines.
- Develop practical, cost-effective structural engineering solutions.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant UK Building Regulations, Eurocodes and British Standards.
- Provide technical input and resolve structural design challenges throughout project delivery.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Senior Structural Design Engineer within a UK engineering consultancy.
- Strong structural design and analytical skills.
- Experience working on building structures, ideally across residential, commercial and industrial projects.
- Excellent knowledge of relevant UK structural design codes and standards.
- Ability to work independently and deliver projects remotely.
- Strong communication and technical problem-solving skills.
- Experience using structural analysis and design software.

- Rate: Circa £40–£50 per hour
- Hours: 20 hours per week – Part-Time
