Bell Cornwall Recruitment is recruiting for an ambitious and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a growing accountancy firm in Sutton Coldfield.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their bookkeeping career within a professional accountancy practice, and work closely with clients across different sectors.
The Role
As a Bookkeeper, your responsibilities will include:
- Processing sales and purchase invoices, along with bank transactions.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Carrying out regular bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and preparing client accounts for year-end.
- Responding to client queries by phone, email and in person.
- Ensuring bookkeeping records are accurate, organised and up to date.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have:
- At least one year’s experience in bookkeeping, including VAT preparation.
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero and Sage.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Confident communication skills and a professional, client-focused approach.
- A proactive attitude and a genuine desire to develop their bookkeeping skills.
- Happy to visit clients at their premises.
