About the role
Retail Assistant Manager
Farleigh Hospice is a high-performing organisation providing specialist palliative and end-of-life care for people with life-limiting illnesses across Mid Essex. As our retail team continues to grow and evolve to meet the changing needs of our community, we are looking for a highly motivated Retail Assistant Manager to join our Maldon clearance shop and donation centre.
To succeed in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
Strong leadership and team management skills*
The ability to recruit, train and motivate volunteers*
Excellent customer service skills*
A sales-focused approach and strong commercial awareness*
Confidence in visual merchandising and shop-floor presentation*
Experience of sorting and pricing donations and rotating stock*
Cash-handling, banking and basic financial management skills*
The ability to organise and prioritise in a fast-paced environment*
Clear verbal and written communication skills*
A confident, solutions-focused approach to decision-making*
The drive to meet sales and Gift Aid targets*
Awareness of health and safety, safeguarding and security*
Good IT and administrative skills*
Flexibility, resilience and a willingness to work weekends*
A genuine commitment to the charity’s values and the local community*
