Solutions Architect SC

£600/day Inside IR35 | 24-Month Contract | SC Clearance Required | Corsham (2 days per week)

We’re supporting a major Defence transformation programme and are looking for an experienced Solutions Architect to help shape and deliver secure, scalable technology solutions within a complex operational environment.

This role will suit someone with a strong background in cloud, data and integration architecture, capable of translating business and operational requirements into robust technical solutions. You’ll work across multiple delivery teams and stakeholders, driving architectural decisions that support critical Defence capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end solution architectures across cloud, data and integration domains.
• Produce high and low-level designs for complex technology solutions.
• Design secure, scalable platforms that enable the effective use and sharing of information.
• Lead architectural governance and design assurance activities.
• Work closely with engineering, security and delivery teams to ensure successful implementation.
• Ensure solutions align with security, interoperability and operational requirements.
• Support technical strategy, roadmaps and technology selection across the programme.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience working as a Solutions Architect on large-scale transformation programmes.
• Strong AWS architecture expertise.
• Experience designing cloud-native and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of data architecture and modern data platforms.
• Experience with API-led and event-driven integration patterns.
• Kubernetes and Docker experience.
• Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience operating within secure or highly regulated environments.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Desirable Experience

• Defence, Government or National Security experience.
• Experience delivering data-centric or analytics-focused platforms.
• Operational, mission, intelligence or information-led environments.
• TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification.
• Active SC Clearance.
