Hours: 45 hours per week, straight shifts
About the role
A four-star hotel near Southend-on-Sea is looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead its brigade of 11. You’ll oversee a varied kitchen operation, serving the hotel restaurant and catering for conferences, banquets and events.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a chef who can maintain high standards across restaurant service and large-scale functions while supporting and developing the team.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a brigade of 11
- Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations and food service
- Maintain consistent standards for food quality, presentation and kitchen hygiene
- Plan and deliver menus for restaurant service, conferences and banqueting
- Organise kitchen workloads to support smooth, efficient service
- Manage food stock, ordering and waste control
What we’re looking for
- Experience as a Head Chef, or as a strong senior chef ready to step up
- Experience leading a kitchen team
- A good understanding of restaurant, conference and banqueting catering
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- A hands-on approach and a commitment to high food and hygiene standards
