Management Accountant

Location: Preston (Hybrid - 3 days onsite per week)
Contract: 6-month fixed-term contract
Availability: Immediate start required

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join a well-established, listed PLC business on an initial six-month fixed-term contract.

Working closely with the Senior Management Accountant, you will support the month-end and quarter-end processes, gaining valuable exposure within a structured finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for a developing accountant looking to build on their existing management accounting experience and further develop their technical skills.

The business is keen to find someone who is naturally curious, eager to learn and willing to get stuck in. There is potential for the position to become permanent longer term, although this cannot be guaranteed.

• Support the month-end and quarter-end close processes.

• Process and post journals accurately and efficiently.

• Assist with the preparation and review of Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet accounts.

• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.

• Support the Senior Management Accountant with day-to-day management accounting activities.

• Ensure financial information is accurate, timely and maintained to a high standard.

• Develop an understanding of internal financial controls and reporting processes.

• Previous experience in a finance or management accounting role.

• A good understanding of core management accounting principles.

• Experience processing journals and completing reconciliations.

• Familiarity with Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reporting.

• A proactive and naturally curious approach, with a genuine willingness to learn.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively within a finance team.
