Transactions Manager

A fantastic business based in Borehamwood are seeking an experienced and proactive Transactional Finance Manager to join an established team.

Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable and banking activities. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on finance professional to manage a team, improve processes and ensure the smooth running of the finance operation.

The successful candidate will have strong transactional finance experience, excellent leadership skills and the ability to drive accuracy, efficiency and continuous improvement across the function.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Management: Lead, manage and develop the transactional finance team, providing support, guidance and training to ensure high performance.
• Accounts Payable: Oversee supplier invoice processing, payment runs, supplier reconciliations and resolution of invoice queries.
• Accounts Receivable: Manage sales ledger activities, credit control, customer invoicing, cash allocation and the resolution of outstanding balances.
• Banking and Reconciliations: Oversee daily banking activities, cash allocation, bank reconciliations and cash management processes.
• Month-End Close: Ensure all transactional ledgers are accurately maintained and reconciled in line with month-end deadlines.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and controls, driving greater efficiency and accuracy.
• Financial Controls: Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures and relevant financial regulations.
• Stakeholder Management: Build strong working relationships with internal departments, suppliers, customers and external stakeholders.
• Reporting: Monitor transactional finance performance, produce relevant reports and provide insight into key performance indicators.
• Query Resolution: Act as the escalation point for complex supplier, customer and payment queries..

The Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience in a Transactional Finance Manager, Finance Operations Manager or similar leadership role.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable and banking processes.
• It is desirable if the candidate speaks another European language although not essential
• Confident using accounting software and Excel.
