A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

 

I am a 13-year-old boy living in the Pontypridd area. I am active and adventurous and particularly enjoy spending time outdoors and exploring different places in the community. My interests include going to the cinema, swimming, soft play and travelling on public transport. I would like a PA who can support me to access activities I enjoy and help me safely experience new places.

I have a cheeky sense of humour and enjoy being around other people. I am very active and like to explore, but I am known to run off unexpectedly and I have no awareness of road safety, so keeping me safe when we are out is very important. When supporting me in the community, you will need to stay close to me and hold my hand, particularly near roads or other potential dangers, as I may suddenly try to run off. I will always need close supervision to help keep me safe while still allowing me to enjoy being out and about.

I am non-verbal and communicate using a LAMP communication device. I can manage my own personal care independently, but I will need you to stay nearby to provide reassurance and support if needed.

PURPOSE OF JOB

To support me to access the community, take part in activities I enjoy, and provide support at home when needed.

HOURS OF WORK

 

9 hours per week to be worked on a 2:1

RATES OF PAY

 

£15.50 per hour + mileage

 

TASKS INVOLVED

• Supporting me to access social outings and community activities.
• Supporting me with any other reasonable tasks as required.
• Always keeping me safe and well, especially when we are out in the community.

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).

The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
