With a healthy pipeline of work and long-term growth plans, the business offers genuine career progression for someone who wants to become more than "just an estimator" over time. The Opportunity Working closely with the leadership team, you will take ownership of estimating activities across a diverse range of construction projects, supporting the business in securing new work and maintaining strong commercial performance. As a senior figure within the pre-construction team, you will also have the opportunity to mentor and support an apprentice who will be joining the business, helping to develop the next generation of estimating talent. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator who enjoys being involved in the wider business, influencing bid strategy, identifying value-engineering opportunities and contributing to future growth. YOUR NEW ROLE Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions Reviewing drawings, specifications and employer requirements Producing accurate take-offs and pricing exercises Managing subcontractor and supplier enquiries Identifying value-engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions Supporting bid strategy and tender presentations Liaising with commercial, design and delivery teams throughout the pre-construction process Attending site visits, client meetings and tender interviews where required Assisting with the development and training of a junior apprentice estimator Contributing to the ongoing improvement of estimating systems and processes ABOUT YOU We're keen to speak with experienced estimators who can demonstrate: Minimum 10 years' estimating experience within a main contracting environment Strong experience pricing construction projects from first principles Background working on public-sector projects such as healthcare, education, social housing, local authority or similar frameworks Ability to review technical information and assess project risks effectively Commercial awareness with a practical and solution-focused mindset Strong communication and stakeholder management skills A professional, reliable and hands-on approach Ability to work collaboratively within a smaller business environment Experience across refurbishment, fit-out, design & build and public-sector construction projects would be particularly advantageous. SALARY AND BENEFITS 70,000 - 75,000 salary Company car Business expenses covered Clear progression opportunities within a growing business Exposure to a broad range of projects and sectors Opportunity to develop into wider commercial, operational, or leadership responsibilities as the company continues to expand Hybrid working may be available following successful completion of probation Why Apply? This role would suit a senior estimator looking for greater influence within a growing company, where your expertise will be valued, your ideas listened to, and your career progression actively supported. Rather than being a small part of a large machine, you'll become a key contributor to the future growth of the business.
