We're recruiting on behalf of a long-established and highly respected Cambridge-based organisation seeking a Payroll Manager to take ownership of its payroll function while also supporting wider finance activities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy and working within a collaborative environment.
This role combines specialist payroll responsibilities with finance duties, making it ideal for an individual who wants to utilise both skill sets in a broad and rewarding position.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process for a diverse workforce.
- Ensure payroll legislation, pensions and statutory requirements are met.
- Act as the primary point of contact for payroll-related queries.
- Administer and reconcile payroll-related accounts and general ledger transactions.
- Support month-end reporting and finance processes.
- Manage pension administration and assist with process improvements.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records and reporting.
- Support the wider finance function as required.
About You
- Proven payroll experience, ideally gained within a complex organisation.
- Understanding of payroll legislation, pensions and compliance requirements.
- Finance experience including reconciliations, general ledger or month-end activities would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Confident communicator who can build relationships across the organisation.
