Accounts Assistant

Fancy taking ownership of purchase ledger while getting more exposure to month-end accounting? This 8 month fixed term contract Account Assistant role gives you both. You’ll join a small finance team where you can work autonomously, develop your balance sheet and month-end experience, and enjoy hybrid working after your first month. The contract runs until the end of June, with the potential to be extended or become permanent.

Reporting to the Finance Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

• Taking ownership of the day-to-day purchase ledger
• Completing bank and supplier statement reconciliations
• Posting purchase invoices and journals
• Liaising with suppliers and resolving queries
• Working with the purchasing team to ensure invoices are processed correctly
• Supporting month-end, with the opportunity to get involved in balance sheet reconciliations and broaden your accounting experience

What you will need:

• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar finance role, such as Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger Clerk, Accounts Payable Assistant or Finance Assistant
• Confidence working independently and picking up new processes quickly
• Excel skills including VLOOKUPs and PivotTables
• A personable approach and a sense of humour, you’ll be joining a small team where getting on with each other matters
