Are you an experienced Finance Director with a strong manufacturing background, looking for a strategic leadership role where you can make a real difference?
Adele Carr Recruitment is working with an established, profitable and growing manufacturing business to appoint a Group Finance Director. This is a pivotal appointment, offering the opportunity to lead the finance function, strengthen financial reporting across operations and play a key role in shaping the company's future growth.
Reporting directly to the Board, you will combine strategic financial leadership with a hands-on approach, improving financial visibility, strengthening controls and ensuring the business has the insight it needs to make informed commercial decisions.
The Role
As Group Finance Director, you will take ownership of the Group's financial strategy, reporting and control environment, working closely with senior leadership and international business units.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the Group finance function and providing financial insight and constructive challenge at Board level.
- Developing robust Group consolidation and consistent financial reporting across international entities.
- Strengthening manufacturing finance, including product costing, stock, cost of goods sold and margin analysis.
- Improving forecasting, cash flow management, working capital and overall financial performance.
- Providing commercial analysis to support investment decisions, capital expenditure and profitable growth.
- Enhancing financial controls, governance, audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
- Supporting the implementation of a new ERP system to improve reporting, processes and management information.
- Building strong relationships with international finance teams and operational leaders, improving consistency and accountability across the Group.
- Developing the UK finance team and driving sustainable improvements across systems, processes and financial performance.
- International travel will be required as part of the role.
About You
We are looking for a commercially astute and hands-on finance leader who can operate confidently at Board level while remaining closely involved in the detail of the business.
You will ideally bring:
- Significant senior finance leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of management accounting, product costing, inventory, production costs and profitability.
- Proven experience of Group reporting, multi-entity consolidation and financial controls.
- A track record of improving financial processes, reporting systems and business performance.
- Experience in cash management, forecasting, capital investment appraisal and financial risk management.
- The ability to influence senior stakeholders, challenge constructively and translate financial information into meaningful commercial insight.
- A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to develop teams and build effective relationships across international operations.
- The flexibility to travel the UK and international sites as required.
- Experience within a regulated manufacturing environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established international manufacturer in a high-impact leadership position, with genuine scope to influence business strategy and drive meaningful improvements.
You will have the autonomy to strengthen the Group's financial infrastructure, improve manufacturing performance and support future investment and growth, working directly with the Board and senior leadership team.
The package:
- Salary of £120,000–£150,000
- Competitive wider benefits package
- Board-level exposure and strategic influence
- An international remit with opportunities to shape and improve the Group finance function
