Production Wirer

I am recruiting on behalf of my client, an established electronics manufacturing business based in Fareham, who are looking for an experienced Wirer to join their production team.
This is a great opportunity for a skilled Wirer with experience in cable assembly, wiring and loom manufacturing to join a specialist engineering environment where quality, precision and attention to detail are essential.

As a Wirer, you will be responsible for assembling cable looms, wiring harnesses and electrical units using specialist tools and equipment, ensuring all work meets the required technical specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manufacture and assemble cable looms, wiring harnesses and electrical assemblies.
• Use cut and strip machines, crimping tools, loom boards and soldering irons.
• Work accurately from complex engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and manufacturing instructions.
• Inspect completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
• Maintain accurate production records and route cards.
• Identify and report any issues affecting product quality or delivery.
• Work closely with production, engineering and quality departments.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety, housekeeping and ESD control.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in electrical wiring, cable assembly or loom manufacturing.
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC J-STD-001 qualifications.
• Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and manufacturing instructions.
• Understanding of ESD controls and safe working practices.
• Awareness of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and meet production deadlines.

The successful Wirer will be joining a well-established electronics manufacturing environment, working alongside experienced production and engineering teams to deliver high-quality electrical assemblies.
This is a full-time position based in Fareham, with the opportunity to develop your skills within a specialist electronics manufacturing business.
