Start Date: October 2026
Contract: Temporary through Academics - until the end of the academic year
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a new opportunity in Eastbourne from October?
\n
Academics are currently working with a welcoming school in Eastbourne who are looking for a caring, patient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team for the remainder of the academic year.
\n
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience supporting children with additional needs who is passionate about helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and learning.
The Role\n
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs.
\n
Your responsibilities may include:
\n
- \n
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN \n
- Supporting pupils with their learning and development \n
- Helping children develop their confidence, independence and social skills \n
- Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and other learning needs \n
- Supporting positive behaviour and maintaining a calm, inclusive learning environment \n
- Helping pupils access the curriculum and participate fully in school life \n
- Working alongside teachers and the SENCO to follow individual support strategies \n
About You\n
The school is looking for someone who is:

- Experienced working in a school or supporting children with SEN \n
- Has a minimum of 6 months' relevant experience \n
- Caring, patient and empathetic \n
- Reliable and proactive \n
- Confident supporting children with additional needs \n
- Able to build positive relationships with pupils \n
- Passionate about supporting children to reach their potential \n
- Comfortable working as part of a wider school team \n
\n
A relevant Teaching Assistant, SEN, Education or Childcare qualification is desirable but not essential if you have relevant experience.
