Senior Mechanical Engineer - Building ServicesEdinburgh Up to GBP60,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits Hybrid Working An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established and growing building services consultancy in the heart of Edinburgh.The business delivers mechanical and electrical engineering design solutions across a diverse range of built-environment projects, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, low-energy design and high-quality engineering. rybka.co.uk This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Building Services Engineer looking to take greater responsibility for project delivery while continuing to develop their technical and client-facing skills.The RoleAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be involved in the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects from concept through to completion.Key responsibilities will include: Leading the mechanical design and delivery of building services projects Designing HVAC, heating, ventilation and associated mechanical systems Producing calculations, specifications, schedules and technical reports Working closely with clients, architects and other engineering disciplines Coordinating mechanical services within multidisciplinary project teams Attending client, design-team and site meetings Supporting projects through detailed design and construction Reviewing technical information and ensuring high standards of design Supporting and mentoring junior engineers Contributing to the delivery of energy-efficient and sustainable building solutions What You'll NeedYou will ideally have: Several years' experience within a building services or MEP consultancy Strong mechanical building services design experience Good knowledge of HVAC and associated mechanical systems Experience delivering projects through multiple design stages Knowledge of UK Building Regulations, relevant British Standards and CIBSE guidance Strong communication and client-facing skills Experience with relevant building services design software A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline Chartered status, or progress towards Chartership, would be advantageous What's On Offer Salary up to GBP60,000, depending on experience Hybrid working, typically three days office / two days home, with flexibility 37.5-hour working week 1pm finish every Friday 28 days' annual leave plus 6 bank holidays Employer pension contribution of 7% Annual performance-related bonus Death in service benefit Employee assistance programme GP service for employees and immediate family Cycle-to-work scheme Ongoing training and long-term career development If you're a Mechanical Building Services Engineer in Edinburgh looking for the next step in your career, or you're currently considering a move into a growing consultancy environment, I'd be keen to speak with you.Apply today or contact Richard Greenwood at Hays Building Services for a confidential discussion.
