The Role
The Junior Software Engineer will be contributing to both the greenfield development and maintenance of internal software and tools used across the business. A central focus of the role is an in-house AI technology platform, which is designed to help commercial teams work more effectively and make better use of data.
Day-to-day responsibilities include writing features in Python and SQL, building integrations and automations, and supporting projects from early concept through to testing and deployment.
The Company
This is a UK-based business with an active internal technology function that is growing its capability. Rather than outsourcing its tech needs, the company invests in building its own tools and platforms, which means the Junior Software Engineer will have real exposure to meaningful, in-production work. What experience does the Junior Software Engineer need?
Practical experience with Python and SQL, whether through personal projects, an internship or first commercial role
A solid grasp of software development fundamentals and an analytical, problem-solving mindset
Genuine curiosity about AI, data, and how emerging technology can be applied to real challenges, any hands-on AI project work or use of AI in your workflow is a real plus
The kind of personality that asks questions, shares ideas, and takes ownership, this team values people as much as technical skill
