About the role
Join our People Technology and Information team and help us get the best from our HR systems and workforce information. Working across People Technology and people analytics, you'll help develop and improve iTrent, strengthen data quality and reporting, and make our HR systems simpler and more effective for colleagues and managers.
You will support the configuration, testing and continuous improvement of our HR systems, working with colleagues across HR and OD, Payroll, Digital, Data and Technology and the wider organisation. You will help ensure our systems and information are accurate, secure and reliable, while improving the experience of those who use them.
The role will also contribute to workforce reporting and people analytics. You will help maintain data quality, produce and develop reports, and turn workforce information into clear and useful insight that supports operational delivery, service improvement and informed decision-making.
What you will be doing
You will:
- support the administration, configuration and continued development of iTrent and other HR systems;
- help move agreed system changes through testing, implementation and change control;
- coordinate and undertake user acceptance testing, recording outcomes and ensuring issues are resolved;
- work with colleagues to identify opportunities to improve processes, increase automation and make better use of self-service;
- provide practical guidance and support to colleagues and managers using HR systems;
- help maintain accurate workforce, organisational structure and establishment information;
- produce and develop workforce reports and management information;
- support the development of people analytics by helping identify trends, patterns and areas requiring further investigation;
- present workforce information clearly so that it can support decision-making and service improvement;
- contribute to data-quality checks, reconciliations, statutory reporting and audit requirements;
- support effective system access, information security and data-protection controls; and
- work collaboratively with internal teams, system suppliers and other partners to resolve issues and improve services.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with both systems and data, with a practical understanding of how good technology and reliable workforce information can support effective HR services.
You will bring:
- experience of administering, supporting or developing an HR, payroll or similar business system;
- an interest in People Technology and how digital systems can improve the experience of colleagues and managers;
- experience of working with data, reporting or management information, with the ability to interpret information and identify useful insights;
- strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to work accurately with detailed information;
- an analytical approach, with the ability to investigate issues and identify practical solutions;
- experience of testing system changes, reviewing processes or supporting system improvements;
- an understanding of data quality, information security and UK GDPR requirements;
- the ability to explain systems and information clearly to colleagues with different levels of technical knowledge;
- strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities; and
- a collaborative, people-centred approach to working with colleagues, managers, suppliers and partners.
Experience of iTrent, BusinessObjects, Power BI or another HR information system would be helpful.
