Machine Operative

Cable Cutting Machine Operative Location: Chesterfield Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30am 4:30pm Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience We are currently recruiting for a Cable Cutting Machine Operative to join a busy and established operation in Chesterfield. This is a hands–on, physically demanding role involving the operation of a mains cable cutting machine to accurately cut cable to customer specifications and orders. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who is practical, reliable and keen to learn a new skill. Key Responsibilities Operating a mains cable cutting machine to cut cable accurately to customer orders.Handling and moving heavy cable and materials safely.Measuring and checking cable lengths to ensure accuracy.Preparing customer orders ready for dispatch.Following health and safety procedures at all times.Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised working area.Working as part of a team to meet daily production and order deadlines. The Ideal Candidate Comfortable with heavy, physical work and manual handling.Practical, hands–on and confident learning to operate machinery.Reliable, punctual and hardworking.Able to follow instructions and work accurately.Safety–conscious with a good attention to detail.Previous machine operating, warehouse or cable–handling experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
