Data Engineer

Data Engineer Sheffield/ hybrid - 3 days onsite £395 per day inside ir35 6 month contract BPSS Eligible We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer to support the development of monitoring, controls and observability capabilities for an enterprise productivity platform. You will design and maintain scalable data pipelines, develop data models for MI reporting, and build dashboards to provide actionable insights across operational performance, risk and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Design and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale log and event data. Develop and optimise data models for analytics, MI reporting and governance. Build dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, Kibana, Grafana or similar. Use SQL and Python or Spark for data processing and analysis. Implement data quality checks, automated alerting and reporting. Collaborate with platform, DevOps, security, risk and compliance teams. Document data flows and continuously improve data pipeline performance. Essential Skills & Experience: 5+ years' experience in Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering. Strong ETL/ELT pipeline development experience. Advanced SQL skills and experience with Python or Spark. Data modelling, aggregation and MI/reporting expertise. Hands-on experience with dashboarding and visualisation tools. Familiarity with Azure, AWS or GCP. Understanding of data governance, privacy and compliance. Desirable: Experience with monitoring, observability or security log data. Knowledge of AI/ML platform monitoring and controls. Experience with ELK Stack, Splunk or similar tools. xjnqpsq Background in banking, financial services or another regulated industry.
