HGV Technician
Location: Barnsley
Salary: £46,467 – £54,500 per annum
Shift: Monday to Friday | Rotating shifts Monday to Friday – 7:00am – 3:30pm / Monday to Friday – 12:00pm – 8:30pm
1 in 3 Saturday mornings | Overtime available at 1.5x
We are looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join the team in Barnsley.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician looking for a stable Monday-to-Friday role, excellent earning potential and the opportunity to work on a varied fleet of trailers, units and plant within a fleet environment.

The Role
- As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, inspection and repair of a varied fleet of commercial vehicles and equipment.
- You'll have the opportunity to work across HGV units, trailers and plant
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on HGVs, trailers and plant
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults
- Carrying out routine servicing and inspections
- Completing repairs efficiently and to a high standard
- Carrying out safety inspections and defect rectification
- Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults
- Working on braking, suspension, steering and other vehicle systems
- Carrying out maintenance and repairs on a varied fleet of trailers and units
- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with health and safety requirements
- Completing relevant maintenance and inspection documentation accurately
About You
- Has previous experience working on HGVs, commercial vehicles, trailers or plant
- Has strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship
- Can work independently and as part of a team
- Is reliable, professional and safety-conscious
