The role of a kitchen assistant will be expected to:
- Assist in the preparation of all food and beverages as and when required, as directed by the cook, assistant cook or manager, whilst ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- To prepare and serve food in accordance with defined standards and quality, working within CQC /OFSTED guidelines regarding current health & safety and hygiene legislation and health and safety policy, with the aim of achieving high standards of customer care and good quality at low cost.
- To help to maintain excellent standards within the kitchen to meet the needs of environmental health and to help maintain current hygiene rating of 5 star.
- To promote and participate in a proactive approach to health and safety in the delivery of all catering operations.
- To keep abreast of new initiatives, systems, and regulations through regular training.
- Promote effective waste management within the kitchen.
This role is based on a Monday to Friday working pattern.
Kitchen Assistants perform a range of duties around the kitchen, including:
- Washing, peeling and preparing food ingredients
- Unloading fresh supplies and organising the stockroom
- Checking sell-by dates and rotating food stock
- Cleaning kitchen appliances and equipment
- Observing cooking times and correct temperatures
- An Induction which will support you in your own personal development.
- A starting salary of £25,949 (pro rata if working less than 37 hours per week)
