Management Accountant

The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Management Accountant to join a growing and forward–thinking finance consultancy based in Cheltenham. The business supports a portfolio of ambitious, founder–led and investor–backed companies, providing them with high–quality finance expertise throughout their growth journey.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys management accounting but wants greater variety, commercial exposure and the chance to work across multiple businesses, rather than focusing on one organisation. Working alongside experienced CFOs, you'll become a trusted finance partner to clients, providing robust financial reporting, analysis and insight while helping them improve their processes and make better business decisions. Key Responsibilities Preparation of monthly management accounts and performance reportingBalance sheet reconciliations and general ledger maintenancePreparation and posting of journals, accruals and prepaymentsSupporting cash flow forecasting, budgeting and financial planningAnalysing financial performance, trends and variancesWorking with senior finance professionals to onboard new clientsImproving and implementing financial processes and controlsUsing automation and AI tools to improve efficiency and reportingSupporting and mentoring junior members of the finance teamBuilding strong relationships with clients and becoming an extension of their finance teamsSupporting wider projects as clients grow and develop About You We are looking for someone who is: ACCA or CIMA qualified, ideally with at least one year's post–qualified experienceExperienced in producing monthly management accountsConfident using accounting systems such as Xero or SageAdvanced in ExcelComfortable using technology and AI to improve finance processesCommercially minded with strong analytical skillsAble to turn complex financial information into clear, understandable messagesHighly organised with excellent attention to detailComfortable managing multiple priorities and working across different clientsProactive, curious and keen to continue developingSomeone who enjoys working in a fast–paced, entrepreneurial environment Why Apply? You'll also benefit from a hybrid working model, with typically two days per week in the Cheltenham office and the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the week.
