Principal Audio Engineer Cambridge Join a pioneer in Cambridge developing mission-critical communication hardware. This is a high-impact opportunity to lead the architectural vision for next-generation audio processing, ensuring life-saving voice clarity. Responsibilities Act as the technical authority for audio software, defining long-term roadmaps Design and implement advanced processing technologies Collaborate with embedded software, hardware, and acoustics teams to integrate audio subsystems Research emerging DSP methods and ML-based audio processing. Technical Requirements 5+ years of professional experience in real-time embedded audio software or DSP algorithm development. Expert-level C/C++ Deep knowledge of AGC, AEC, filtering, and VAD Proven ability to lead complex technical projects end-to-end Advantageous Skills Experience with mission-critical standards Proficiency in MATLAB or Python Knowledge of ARM platforms & RTOS environments Understanding of microphone arrays, acoustic system behaviour, or modern ML-based audio enhancement.
