Graduate Trainee Food Technologist

An established, award-winning, employee-owned ambient food supplier is looking for a Technical Assistant to join its growing Technical Team. Supplying major UK retailers and foodservice customers from an international supply base, this business sits at the heart of safe, compliant and high-quality food production. The Role You’ll work closely with customers, suppliers, sales teams and internal stakeholders to ensure products are safe, legal, accurate and customer-approved. From specifications and labelling to audits and NPD launches, you’ll be involved across the full product lifecycle. Key responsibilities include: Supporting the Technical Director in maintaining and improving the Product Safety & Quality Management System Managing technical data, specifications, complaints, non-conformances and supplier approval records Liaising with suppliers to obtain nutritional data, ingredient details, barcodes and technical documentation Ensuring product and packaging compliance with legal, safety, quality and customer standards Compiling, checking and approving product labelling and artwork Building strong relationships with retailer technical teams and navigating retailer online specification systems Supporting HACCP, process controls, internal audits and factory quality checks Project managing accounts from NPD through to successful product launch Helping resolve quality issues efficiently and compliantly What’s On Offer Competitive salary – £31k + depending on your experience Company pension, discretionary bonus, healthcare and life cover On-site chef with freshly prepared breakfasts (what a great way to start your day in office!)
