About the role
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am an 81-year-old lady living in the Penarth area. I enjoy watching documentaries on television and love having a chat and getting to know people. I have a good sense of humour and enjoy a laugh and friendly conversation.
Before retiring, I worked as an Area Manager for a shoe company, a role I was very proud of. I am looking for someone who is friendly, patient, and enjoys conversation. I have a diagnosis of Dementia and would like support from someone who can spend time with me, provide company, and help me continue enjoying my day-to-day by keeping me company whilst my husband is out for a few hours. Personal Assistant will assist me with personal care, including showering, and support me with monitoring my continence needs in a dignified and respectful manner.
PURPOSE OF JOB
- To provide encouragement and gentle prompting to help me engage during the time we spend together.
- To provide respite support for my husband, allowing him to leave the home when required, knowing that I am safe and supported.
- To accompany me on short walks in the local community, including visits to a nearby coffee shop.
HOURS OF WORK
14 hours per week, to be worked across Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with occasional hours available on Sunday.
RATES OF PAY
£17.00 per hour
