About the role
About the Company
A market‑leading Design & Build specialist delivering high‑quality commercial interiors across London. Known for design excellence, technical capability, and a collaborative culture, the business is expanding its pre‑construction function to support a strong pipeline of CAT A and CAT B projects.
They are now seeking a Pre‑Construction Assistant to join their London team; someone organised, proactive, and eager to develop into a fully-fledged Pre‑Construction Coordinator or Estimator.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their pre‑construction career who wants to learn from experienced senior professionals. You’ll support the front‑end project process, helping to prepare tender documentation, coordinate design information, manage subcontractor enquiries, and assist with cost plans and proposals.
You’ll work closely with design, commercial, and project teams, gaining exposure to the full pre‑construction lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing tender packs, proposals, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate design information between internal teams and external consultants.
- Issue and manage subcontractor enquiries, ensuring timely returns.
- Support the preparation of cost plans, take‑offs, and basic estimating tasks.
- Help maintain pre‑construction trackers, schedules, and documentation.
- Attend internal design reviews, client briefings, and project meetings as required.
- Assist with gathering technical information, samples, and product data.
- Ensure all pre‑construction information is organised, accurate, and up to date.
- Support the Senior Pre‑Construction Manager with day‑to‑day tasks and project preparation.
- Contribute to a smooth handover from pre‑construction to delivery teams.
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience in construction, interiors, or Design & Build (pre‑construction exposure ideal but not essential).
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Confident communicator with a proactive, positive approach.
- Ability to read drawings (training provided if needed).
- Good understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Interest in commercial interiors, workplace design, and the D&B process.
- Detail‑oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
- Team player with a willingness to get involved and support across departments.
What’s on Offer
- Competitive salary + benefits.
- Full training and development from senior pre‑construction professionals.
- Exposure to the full D&B lifecycle, from concept to delivery.
- Clear progression into Pre‑Construction Coordinator, Estimator, or Design/Technical roles.
- Opportunity to work with a respected, design‑led D&B firm with a strong London presence.
- Collaborative, supportive team culture with real career growth.
