Finance Manager

We are recruiting on behalf of a small-to-medium-sized manufacturing business based in Portsmouth, this is a predominantly office-based opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of a broad finance function and provide valuable support to the CFO. The role offers flexible part-time hours, with an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution across day-to-day finance, reporting and process improvement. What will the Finance Manager role involve? Oversee core sales and purchase ledger activity, maintaining accurate records and supporting effective cash collection and supplier paymentsManage the day-to-day administration and reconciliation of the invoice discounting facilityCoordinate the month-end process, including journals, management accounts, reconciliations and supporting commentaryPrepare quarterly VAT returns and help maintain compliance with relevant statutory requirementsLiaise with the outsourced payroll provider and support year-end audit preparation, reporting and wider finance projects Suitable Candidate for the Finance Manager vacancy: Previous experience in a hands-on accounting or finance management role within a small or medium-sized businessStrong working knowledge of Xero and advanced Excel capabilityPractical experience with invoice discounting, with asset-based lending exposure advantageousSound VAT knowledge, including preparation of VAT returns, and experience working with outsourced payroll providersOrganised, accurate and confident working autonomously while constructively improving processes across the business Additional benefits and information for the role of Finance Manager: Permanent, part-time position of approximately 25 hours per weekFlexible working pattern to be agreed, with availability aligned to month-end and payment deadlinesSignificant office-based working within a varied and hands-on finance roleSalary will be dependent on experience CMA Recruitment Group is acting as a recruitment agency in relation to this role.
